I-66 from the Capital Beltway (I-495) to Gainesville now features two Express Lanes and three General Purpose lanes in each direction. All travelers on I-66 now benefit from a more reliable travel experience. The Express Lanes are dynamically-tolled, adjusting to maintain a smooth flow of traffic. An E-ZPass is required to use the Express Lanes. Vehicles with 3 or more passengers (HOV-3+) can use the Express Lanes toll-free. There is no cost for using the General Purpose lanes. Please note, other entities and the Virginia Department of Transportation operate the other nearby toll facilities in Northern Virginia and those tolls are billed separately.
